About VOE Programs

VOE is an immersive ocean education program that brings the underwater world directly to students, museums, and communities through virtual reality. Featuring a growing library of narrated 360° films captured in marine environments around the globe, VOE showcases conservation success stories, unique ocean habitats, and real-world careers in marine science.
From California's vibrant kelp forests to the Arctic's icy waters, each 3–7 minute VOE experience transports participants beneath the surface to explore and connect with the ocean in a meaningful way. To further enhance learning and engagement, VOE also offers interactive VR games, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) demonstrations, and hands-on educational activities that inspire curiosity, environmental stewardship, and interest in STEM careers.

Guardians of the Ice - A rare look at Pacific walrus research in Alaska, blending Indigenous knowledge and science.
Catherdrals of the Deep - A dive into Catalina’s kelp forests, featuring a once-in-a-lifetime black seabass mating event.
Where Humans and Giants Gather - Dive into the waters of Moorea, French Polynesia alongside adventure photographer and filmmaker Scott Sporleder, for an unforgettable 360° encounter with humpback whales in their natural environment.
